The annual NM Cross Country Ski Club Summer Picnic is coming up on Jun 5, 2016, at the Wildlife West Nature Park. We will again have the Event Barn for our picnic. This is a great opportunity to get together and reminisce about the past ski season and everybody's desire to be a lot cooler. Car pooling is encouraged, so try to make your plans accordingly. Children and guests are welcome, but please do not bring any pets.
Max Shepherd and Mike Martin will be coordinating all of the arrangements, so you can contact them with questions and offers of help. Please RSVP by Thursday, June 2, to Max Shepherd at 505-270-5258 or email@example.com (specify if you want hamburger or veggie burger). The club will be providing the following:
You should plan on bringing:a dish to share with others a jacket (it can get cold at that altitude) an adult beverage (if you wish. It’s optional.)
We will again have a grill going for burgers and lots of pot luck food from all participants. So plan on bringing your favorite items. We will have an email announcement and a Newsletter announcement in the near future about how you can volunteer to help with some of the tasks, such as set up, cooking, cleanup, and maybe a few other things. So watch for your opportunity to play a role.
The Wildlife West Nature Park will also be open to the public, with all of their animals on display. The park specializes in exhibits of animals that have been injured or customized in such a way that they cannot be returned to the wild without endangering themselves or people near their habitat.
More information about the picnic can be found at Wildlife West Nature Park including more maps and descriptions of the park's amenities.
