The NM Cross Country Ski Club sponsors many different kinds of outings.
Some trips have both downhill ski resorts and cross country skiing nearby. Other trips are to remote, back-country areas. Outings are for a range of abilities, as described in the document Ski Tour Ratings (see sidebar).
All participants in tours must sign the Trip Sign-in Form. To help leaders and participants, we have two documents: Guidelines for Leaders and Guidelines for Participants. Before you go out on any trips you should familiarize yourself with these documents.
You should also familiarize yourself with equipment, weather, and safety conditions. These are discussed on the XC, BC, & AT Resources and Weather and Road Conditions pages of this website.
The Washington Post published an article by Des Bieler about cross-country skiing describing some of the things that make it a really cool activity. Titled Cross-country skiing is a lot cooler than you think, it talks about some of the connections that cross skiers have with their outdoors environment.
